This is probably the best news of the week.  When we started our Junior and Inter sessions at Felixstowe we hoped we could raise enough money to purchase goals to use at that pool.  A pair of goals would cost just over £2000 – significant investment! .

Many of the committee members have been involved helping Ros Perry pull together funding applications and hosting councillors to secure local authority funding.

One of our applications has succeeded!. We have had email confirmation from that our grant application to Sported (www.sported.org.uk) a national charity that promotes sport for young people aged 11-25 was successful and they are granting us enough money to fund the cost of one goal.

On Tuesday during the Inter and Junior session we entertained Suffolk County Councillor John Goodwin at Felixstowe Pool to explain about SC Torpedoes Water Polo Club and our ambitions.

The brilliant news is that he has agreed to purchase the 2nd Goal from his locality budget.

As a committee we will still need to sort out the ordering process and wait for all the official paperwork but still this is great news to share.
