Tues 16th Sept SC Torpedoes hosted our first competitive match at Felixstowe Leisure Centre. Unfortunately the result did not go our way with the Ipswich players dominating and exposing the gaps in the SCT defence and we lost 2 – 22.
The goals from Nathan and Paige provided us with the biggest cheers of the night, but well done to all of our players. I think they players enjoyed the match regardless of the result from what I could see they all had smiles on their faces at the end of the evening.
Our U14s is mainly made up of our younger players embarking in their first season of competition, special mention to Liam and Jessica playing in their first ever match. Looking ahead I am sure they will grow as team gaining valuable experience over the coming months, certainly the two girls in my car on the way home said they could not wait for the next match.
It was also great to see so many parents ( and grandparents) supporting the players. Hope they enjoyed the evening as-well.
I do have to report your official scorer (me) nearly let the team down. I made a mistake and recorded an additional goal to Ipswich, so thanks to the honesty of Ipswich parents keeping accurate score , highlighting my error. Thanks to Lindsey Cook was great help to me as our timekeeper, looking ahead I think we could do with some extra eyes to stop me making mistakes in the future, so if any parents willing to help out with the scoring and timekeeping please let me know.
